2000 YEARS BEFORE BONSAI

Penjing predates Japanese bonsai by two millennia. Chinese scholars engineered the "potted scene" as a sophisticated tray landscape.

Bonsai is the portrait of a tree. Penjing is the architecture of an ecosystem—a storytelling diorama documenting the synergy between humanity and the natural world.

Our evolution of the artform, integrates the landscape directly into the vessel. Every peak, path, and building is sculpted into the clay. This provides the foundation for a unique creative collaboration. We provide the structure; you and nature bring the world to life.

In our commitment to Making life better through art and nature, Studio Tsubo invites you into a unique creative collaboration. Our studio provides the sculpted foundation; you and nature bring the world to life.

Art, Science and Nature combined to improve life.

DESCEND INTO THE AQUASCAPE

Enter an endless aquascape of ceramic planting vessels engineered with porous texture to foster microbial life and become Living Vessels.

This marks the introduction of Tsubo Style, a modular approach to design where the aquascape is no longer static, but a responsive architecture that evolves alongside the life it supports.

Discover how mobile planting beds allow for Observational Embellishment and watch how animals respond with inquisitive exploration as they navigate a realistically changing environment.
