Studio Tsubo empowers urban gardeners and aquascapers by merging ancient ceramic traditions with a modern pipeline. Leveraging digital worldbuilding, we utilize handbuilding, 3D modeling and tool making to craft one-of-a-kind sculptural vessels that offer tangible benefits to micro-ecosystems.
Vessels are made from unglazed, naturally stained ceramic with deeply textured, high-porosity surfaces designed specifically to host microbial colonies. For the aquatic hobbyist, this results in biological filtration where beneficial bacteria thrive directly on the artwork, promoting superior water quality and ecological balance.
For terrestrial gardeners the design of environments with multiple planting beds encourages diverse growth in restricted urban spaces. Encouraging daily meditative gardening and moments of inner peace. While porous ceramic allows aerobic microbial activity and drainage to keep all biological systems healthy.

FOUNDERS
Studio Tsubo was founded by Lyndon Sumner and Lorrie Cardoso. Together the couple distills their backgrounds in creative direction, design, project management, and community engagement through the arts into a new creative company. Recently trading their lives in the city for the wilds of the Oregon Coast and a life in pursuit of making life better through art and nature.
Lyndon Sumner leads design and fabrication with a maker’s approach, leveraging a 20-year career as a Creative Director and designer building interactive digital worlds. He combines a fresh take on digital sculpting with traditional hand building, bringing scale to boutique production.
His background in immersive worldbuilding is now transformed into reality, focusing on storytelling through hand sculpted scenes that celebrate what it means to be alive. Lyndon believes that the practice of caring for and cultivating life, directly translates to meaningful ecological empathy.
Lorrie Cardoso offers her decades of building relationships and bringing community and the arts together with her professional experience as a paralegal and project manager in the role of studio Producer and Media Manager.
She loves navigating the everchanging role and thrills of independent business ownership, running a company that brings people together to celebrate the connection between art and nature.
